Italy’s newspaper, Repubblica, carries a fresh story on Thursday, citing that the European Union (EU) reportedly could give Italy more time before EDP measures are taken up.

This comes after Germany’s newspaper, Handelsblatt, reported on Wednesday that the European Commission reported to open deficit procedures against Italy before Christmas.
