Trump seen replacing Yellen with Gary Cohn – Politico

Politico reported on Tuesday that President Trump is increasingly unlikely to nominate Yellen next year for second term and could replace her with National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn.

"It's Gary's if he wants it, and I think he wants it," Politico quoted one Republican whom it said was close to the selection process as saying.

Cohn - Hawk or a dove?

Cohn does not have a track record on monetary policy. But he is viewed as closer to Yellen’s preference for gradual rate hikes. He also had ties to the bank bailouts during the crisis and could be another of the may Goldman alumni to run the economy under Trump Presidency.

Yellen’s term ends at the beginning of February.
