US: Initial Jobless Claims fell to 344K
According to the Labour Department, the Americans that filed in their first initial claims for regular state unemployment-insurance benefits fell by 22K last week to a seasonally adjusted 344K in the week ended February 24, below expectations at 360K and coming from 366K (revised) in the previous print.
Continuing claims, which reflect people already receiving benefits, fell by 91K to a seasonally adjusted 3.074 million in the week ended February 17 vs. 3.165 million in the previous week (revised).
