A.Tsipras still optimistic on a deal

FXStreet (Edinburgh) - Greek PM A.Tsipras said on Tuesday that the country remains committed to reach an agreement with its EU peers, although he acknowledged that the negotiations remain hard in spite of the government’s determination.

He also expects the EU leaders to be contemplative of the Greeks fragile situation and to respect the country’s ‘realistic proposals’.

GBP/USD rejected at 1.5250

GBP/USD paused its upward rally and eased-off highs in the mid-European session, having faced rejection near 1.5250 levels. The major rallied beyond 1.52 handle as traders cheered above estimates construction PMI and mortgage approvals numbers, providing a much-needed impetus to the pound.
